Welcome to the web site of the CAMRA Member's Investment Club.

Have you ever wished that you owned part of a brewery or one of the many pub chains now in existence?

We turn that dream into a reality and as shareholders we help try to make a difference to the company policies introduced by their directors.

We started investing in breweries in 1989 and now have over 3,500 members in the Club. At the end of October 2018 the fund value was almost £21m with a unit value of £5.11.

If you are a member of CAMRA you join us at the CAMRA Members' Investment Club.

Please note that the Admin Office moved in February and the new address can be found on the contact page - all correspondence should be sent here.

The 2018 AGM was held on Saturday 16 June, once again at The Victoria in Beeston. One of the resolutions passed at the AGM was to increase the annual contribution limit from £2,000 to £5,000 with effect from 1st July.

The Committee is sorry to learn of the death of the Club's former Chairman, Chris Bruton, and wishes to convey its sincerest sympathies to his family and friends.

Chris was the Campaign's fifth national Chairman and helped mould it into the most successful consumer organisation in Europe. Born in Somerset and educated at Cambridge, where he was awarded a PhD in microbiology, he developed a successful corporate hospitality business around his other non-real ale interests of cricket, rugby and motor sport. He was a founder member of the Club and an enthusiastic and forceful Chairman until he retired last year. He died peacefully at his home after a long illness and will be sorely missed.

The Club now has a Twitter account. just click on this link ...

2018 Brewery visits

The first trip which to be finalised is the overseas trip in September - see the Events page for details.

A visit to McMullens Brewery in Hertfordshire took place last month. A report and photo are now on the Events page./p>

At the AGM it was suggested that a trip to Belhaven could be arranged in 2019. Members are asked to register their interest with the Admin office so that we can can gauge interest.

The 2018 Annual Report and Accounts were sent out in April, these included your Tax Certificate - please retain your Annual Statement as it is not always possible to obtain a replacement copy.

CAMRA National Executive

Good news about one of the Club's long standing members, Lynn Atack. At the CAMRA AGM held in Coventry on 21/22 April she was elected on to the National Executive and she polled the highest number of votes. Lynn is a very keen supporter of the CMIC International trips.

Young's Hotel Vouchers

We have now received a batch of the latest Young's vouchers. They are valid until June 2019. Please telephone Jane at the office if you would like one of these vouchers.

Please note there is now a contact phone number if the office is closed or if the office phone is unanswered for any reason. You can call 07547 985077 to leave a message.

Past performance is not a guide to future performance. Price movements may cause the capital value of an investment and the income derived from it to go down as well as up and investors may get back less than they originally invested. If in doubt investors should seek professional advice before joining the Club.
